I’m June — newborn and lifestyle photographer, mother of two, and the calm presence behind the camera.
For the past eight years, I have photographed growing families through some of their most tender and significant chapters. My work is gentle, emotionally honest and carefully considered — without ever making the experience feel overly staged.

You do not need to know how to pose, prepare a perfect home or keep a newborn settled throughout the session. That is not your job.

Calm and baby-led.
Newborn sessions allow time for feeding, settling, changing and cuddling. Nothing is rushed simply to keep to a rigid schedule.

Made for real homes.
I bring the lighting, wraps and styling pieces to you. Your home becomes the studio, while still feeling recognisably yours.

Carefully finished.
Each selected photograph is refined into a cohesive final gallery, while retaining the warmth and honesty of the original moment.

family life changes.
As a mother of two, I understand how full and fleeting these seasons can feel. The days can be long, but the details change almost before you notice them.
Photography gives us a way to hold onto more than appearances. It preserves relationships, movement, tenderness and the particular way your family belongs together at this point in time.
June’s story
Hello, I’m June. I am the founder of JDL Photography and the person behind every enquiry, session and finished gallery.
Photography has been part of my life for eight years, but newborn and maternity work became the place where everything aligned. These sessions hold so much emotion: anticipation, exhaustion, tenderness, change and the beginning of an entirely new relationship.
I moved to Johannesburg in 2025 and brought the same calm, in-home approach with me. I travel with the lighting, wraps, props and styling pieces needed for the session, allowing families to remain in a familiar environment.
I feel deeply honoured each time a family invites me into their home and trusts me with a chapter they will never experience in quite the same way again.
My aim is simple: to create photographs that feel beautiful now, and increasingly meaningful as the years pass.
